Monday, September 24, 2007,

Once upon a time, 37 pupils were put together and named Sec 3E3 (2006).

These 37 pupils came from 4 different Sec 2 classes (Sec 2E1, 2E2, 2E3 and 2E4 - 2005) and 4 different Sec 3 classes (Sec 3E2, 3E3, 3E4, 3E5 - 2005). Like a little united nation, 3 more pupils joined the class a few months later. One Taiwanese from Taiwan. One Singaporean from China. One Korean from Korea.

Led by the ever smiling Mr Yusof (the only time he wasn't smiling was when D*RR*H had to find her seat under a table) and Ms Sim, the UNunited little united nation wasn't keen on being united.

You will never find the class mingling. You will never find the cliques formed from new made friends. You will never find the following - Naemah + Man Mun, Rabiatul acting crazy, Xin Yi + Jun Liang, Jian Shun on a class outing, Zhi Yi joking with Silah, Durrah laughing non-stop (I almost typed hysterically) with Saz by her side sometimes looking bored, Bidian awake and paying attention, Yazir chattering during lesson time, Raudhah looking at teacher with blank look in eyes or Esleen giving food to almost the entire class etc

2 months passed.

Ms Sim couldn't take the UNunited little united nation being UNunited anymore.

On 14th Feb 2006, each pupil in Sec 3e3 (2006) then got a note from Ms Sim. Like the sun, the notes melted the icebergs in the UNunited little united nation. Slowly, people stopped differentiating one another and the class slowly bonded together.

Amidst Angel, Yu Han, Audrey, Glenn, Shao Heng's departure and alot of sadness (just look at Daryl and Glenn - if we don't know them well, we'll mistake their brotherhood for gayhood) the class somehow managed to overcome their differences... Throw in some hospital trips (most memorable one was how we smuggled YOU in to visit Marcus!!!! Haa... I must have been blacklisted by the nurses at CGH...) and a few talks by Ms Selena and the class is more than ever united.

In 2006, everyone turned up for photo taking with Mr Yusof and Ms Sim.

2007 - Mr Yusof retired and Mdm Too joined us... She took less than 1-2 weeks to remember everybody's names! A notable feat for a teacher who teaches less than half the class... =)

In 2007, Yazir wasn't around for photo taking and was much missed by everyone. I remember ALOT of people commenting, "If only Yazir was around, the photo would be complete..."

Where to find a class like that?

My first ever form class.

Always forgiving and caring. Remember the poster "We want Glenn, Shao Heng, Yu Han, Audrey back" ?

Always loving. Remember Pelangi? You guys were the best! I remember Fiqah, Nina, Nad, Ritha, Jiawen etc coming to me and telling me stories of the trip!

Always full of surprises. Remember the bday surprise you guys had for me? VP walked passed and came in...

Always full of silly but cute and innovative names. Remember how a simple Lee Zeyu became.... Jalama Muthu Peter Lee Zeyu ? Btw, I'm sure Zeyu likes Ritha...

Always winning class decor competitions. We have the most beautiful windows in East Spring's history! And the nicest class cupboard ever. Thank you Xin Yi, Joan, Ji Hye, Zhi Ying, Esleen, Silah, Naemah, Ethan etc...

Always having the MOST skinny God of Fortune - Kok Zheng.

Always shy... Little know fact to most in class, the 3 elderly (HH, YH, SBD) bought me a HUGE dog - half my height - for Teachers' Day last yr. They were too shy to pass to me and got Kok Zheng to pass to Mr Leong to pass to me. Btw, Mr Wong saw the dog selling for almost $100 (discounted price) one day. I'm super touched...

Always late. Look at Fida, Jeslyn, Safirah, Silvia, YH, SBD... But good thing is, these people do make an attempt to come earlier for exams. MAKE SURE YOU DO THE SAME FOR O LEVELS!!!

And always having new surprises...

And the best surprise would be the most recent GREEN UNunited little united nation class gathering... I'm glad Jian Shun turned up. I'm even touched when Elmi said it was a pity Faz had to leave early...

Indeed, the UNunited little united nation has became little united nation.

Congratulations, 4E3. You're graduating with one of the best presents ever - a united form class.
